TEA Provides Clarification for Statement About CTE Funding

Deputy Associate Commissioner for School Finance Lisa Dawn-Fisher made statements at meetings held during the fall about funding for career and technical education programs indicating that weighted funding would be generated only for courses taught by CTE certified teachers. The agency has expressed that the correct policy is that weighted funding is generated for CTE courses so long as the teacher holds a certification that has been approved by the State Board for Educator Certification for that course.
