Jeanie Bragg Wins National ACTE Outstanding Guidance Professional Award

CTAT member Jeanie Bragg has won the national ACTE Outstanding Guidance Professional Award.


She was presented with this award at the 2009 ACTE Annual Convention and Career Tech Expo in Nashville, Tennessee on November 19.

Jeanie Bragg is the Career Counselor for John H. Guyer High School in the Denton Independent School District in Denton, Texas. She has been an ambassador for career and technical education for more than thirty years, first as a student, then as a teacher and now as a guidance counselor. Within her twenty-seven years as an educator she has developed and implemented a comprehensive guidance program that has impacted more than 50,000 students. Through this program, she partners with teachers, administrators, parents, business leaders, postsecondary representatives and organizations to provide students with current career information as well as real world application. Her commitment to her profession is exemplified through her involvement with CTE professional organizations. She has served on the state board for the Career and Technology Association of Texas for many years. Throughout this time she has served as chair of several committees and as a member of numerous committees. She has shared her expertise through presentations at the regional, state and national level. She is currently serving as the Region IV representative for the ACTE Public Information Committee.
