Hochberg Bill Underscores Financial Impact to District

Representative Scott Hochberg (D-Houston) has filed a "Let's Get Real" bill (HB 2485) to expose the harsh reality of deep cuts to education spending. Hochberg said that he is not likely to vote for his own bill, but wants to send a wake up call to fellow lawmakers. As drafted, the bill would eliminate weighted funding for Career and Technical Education and Gifted and Talented, among other items.
