Automatic ACTE Membership
Membership in CTAT includes membership in the national Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE). CTAT submits dues to national on behalf of new and renewing members. ACTE sends the monthly professional journal Techniques, offers discounts on printed and promotional materials and provides discounted registration for the annual Career and Technical Education Convention. ACTE sends timely federal legislative updates and supports member participation in the federal legislative process.
Advocacy
Members have the opportunity to ethically influence the legislative and regulatory environment in which career and technical education takes place by advocating for and advancing the interests of our field. CTAT provides advocacy and representation among lawmakers, policy makers and influential groups to promote quality CTE programs and retain funding. CTAT is a member of the Texas Career and Technology Council, the umbrella organization representing eight secondary level CTE organizations in the Texas, providing a united voice for CTE.

Professional Development
High quality professional development conferences are offered two times per year in winter and summer. They are designed to bridge the gaps between high school, college and the workplace. These events bring together a diverse group of innovative educators, industry partners and policy leaders to share successful approaches for education and workforce development challenges. Sessions focus on successful approaches and innovative initiatives and content is geared towards replication. Highlights include program updates from the TEA and extensive on CTE program management.

Recognition
CTAT recognizes outstanding leaders in the field of career and technical education through Administrator of the Year and Guidance Counselor of the Year Awards with winners advancing to ACTE Region IV to compete for Educator of the Year. State service awards are given to those who contribute expertise and time to the organization. CTAT also recognizes outstanding student achievement with 11 cash scholarship awards for $1,000 awarded each year. CTAT contributes to the Best of Texas state awards program offered by the Texas Career and Technology Council.

CTAT keeps you informed of the latest news regarding career and technical education including legislative updates, workforce trends and issues, model programs, award nominations and competitions.
CTAT also distributes an electronic version of the CTAT sponsored Your Future, Your Life - a college and career planning newsletter for high school students. Each issue features two career clusters and related articles. Written in a relateable style for students - it is a valued resource for many CTE professionals.
