Professional Development

CTAT seeks to provide high quality professional development offerings for the Texas CTE community in order to expand quality programs and partnerships, learn about regulatory changes and discover what colleagues are doing around the state. Education Open Source

The annual sumTexas Career Education Conference for counselors, administrators, postsecondary partnership personnel, ESC personnel and teachers in business, finance, marketing, health science, STEM, architecture and construction, arts, A/V technology and communications, information technology, manufacturing. The annual winter Education Open Source provides education and workforce leaders an opportunity to learn the latest trends and become equipped to prepare students for 21st century careers. EOS is host to more than 60 comprehensive sessions CTE Training Institute presented by top professionals in the field.

Advocacy and Awareness

CTAT members and staff pursue advocacy efforts at state and national levels to shape CTE public policy and influence public perception. CTAT seeks to collaborate with state coalitions, alliances and groups focusing on education issues.

CTAT staff and officers present at conferences and events throughout the state to raise awareness about CTE and policy issues related to CTE.

Awards and Scholarships for Leadership and Excellence

Aligned with ACTE, CTAT promotes excellence in career and technical education by recognizing individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the field, programs that exemplify the highest standards and organizations that have conducted activities to improve and expand programs. Winning administrators and counselors will advance to the Region IV award competitions.

CTAT awards 10 $1,000 cash scholarships to high school seniors enrolled in two or more CTE courses for three or more credits. Chosen students and their families are honored at the CTAT Annual Awards Luncheon held during the summer conference.
