History

CTAT traces its origins to the 1970s with the founding of two groups including the Texas Vocational Guidance Association later named Texas Career and Technical Guidance Association and the Texas Association of Directors and Supervisors of Occupational and Technical Education later renamed Texas Vocational Administrators and Supervisors Association. The Career and Technology Administrators of Texas was formed from the Texas Vocational Administrators and Supervisors Association and incorporated in 1999. By 2005, the two groups merged and formed what is currently Career and Technology Association of Texas to better reflect the mission and goals of the organization.
